So many celebrations this week at GMS.
Our awesome volunteers.  They help in the office, workroom, PTA, Tiger Mart.  Basically anywhere they are needed.

There was also the district Salute Celebration   There were several student performances. The second student is a GMS Tiger!
Celebrating Mrs. Hawkins DeCaire as our Teacher of Promise.

GMS hosted the annual student talent show.  There is such amazing talent.

The week ended by recognizing all the new National Junior Honor Society students.

We are down to the final 5 days!  6th-grade locker cleanout is Tuesday and 7th grade is Thursday.  Remember students don't need backpacks after locker cleanout.

End of Year 8th grade celebration is Wednesday and 6th grade is Thursday.

Have a great last weekend before summer break!

I have been bragging about all the artwork around campus and thought this week I would show some artwork from Woodshop.  Not Mr. Mahoney, but the chair,

TV stand,

and Violin.

6th Grade Science Club received a 1st place at the competition at UT.

Tigers have been busy this week preparing for STAAR.

One way Tigers prepare for STAAR during the year is with word banks.  This one is Mrs. Juettner's.

Yummy treats from our Culinary class this week.

So much fun watching the annual Faculty vs Student volleyball game and...

Faculty vs Student Basketball!  And wow, were these student's coached well.  Look how nicely they dressed.

The GMS Library is missing lots of books.  Please check around the house and return any library books.

Locker cleanout begins next week.  Backpacks will not be allowed or needed once lockers are cleaned.

It is also STAAR testing all week.  Please make sure students come with a book to read, sack lunch, and well rested.  Visitors are NOT allowed on campus.

Have a Happy Mother's Day.

Mrs. Zimmerman's Theater class made puppets with the Circle C CDC Center.

Library visitation is super high.  2372 students visited the library in April.  I think they want to come and see the Library Aide bookshelves.  They are super creative this six weeks.

Here is another GMS art project from Jr. VASE.

Dance Spring Show

We are in the final countdown.  Once STAAR and EOC are completed, End of Year field trips will happen.  Check the student handbook for participation criteria in these events.
