The Gorzycki Choir had a practice UIL event at Bowie today.  For the first timers, hopefully this will calm some nerves.  They have a concert next week and then UIL competition the following week.

Students had fun last week at the GT Independent Study Fair.

Next week is STAAR testing for all 7th and 8th graders.  Please remember that students need to be at school next week.  It is helpful if they have a sack lunch.  Remember that campus is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

If you have an incoming 6th grader or know someone who does, Transition Camp registration is online now!

Tiger Team volunteers are in great need.  Without more volunteers, we might have to cancel outside time after lunch for students.  Please sign-up on the PTA website.

Remember there is no school tomorrow.  Have a great weekend and see you on Monday.

This was Band UIL week.  All three bands had competitions.  Our Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony both received Superior ratings.  Our Symphony band received Superior ratings in concert and an Excellent Rating in Site Reading.  Congratulations to our band directors and band members!

The boys basketball teams had the opportunity to watch the UIL basketball competitions in San Antonio.  Thank you parents for driving the students.

Some of our student presented at Think It Up Live!
Today was Tiger Day.  This is an amazing fun day provided by our outstanding PTA.  If with all the rain, the students had a blast.  I think the staff did too!

Have a great Spring Break!  Remember its just a four day week.  We are off again on the 25th.

Gorzycki has lots of celebrating this week.

The 7th grade boys basketball team finished their season as South West Zone Champions!

The girls soccer team finished their season as South West Zone Champions!

The Concert Orchestra (non UIL) received all 1s and 2s in their competition!

Chamber Orchestra (UIL) received all 1s!!!!

All 7th and 8th grade students viewed the "Ending the Silence" presentation.  I've heard that it has opened avenues for conversations that aren't typically discussed at home.  This is awesome and the point of the presentation.  Please let me know if you have questions.

The 6th graders enjoyed listening to storyteller, Donna Ingram.

Some students participated in the Independent Study field trip to the University of Texas Library.

Good luck to our dance teams and our One Act theater arts team on their competition tomorrow.

Tiger Day is next Friday.  Lots of help is needed for this awesome event.  Please sign-up on the PTA website if you haven't already done that.

Have a great weekend!
