GMS had an awesome 8th Grade Career Fair.  The students did a great job asking questions.

Please don't forget to take the AISD Parent Survey, which can be found on the GMS website.

If you would like to have some say in the menu for cafeterias, complete the survey at www.tinyurl.com/AISDfoodsurvey

January 30th is the next Parenting Series on Love and Logic at 6:30 in the library.

Registration for the Cap 10K is open.  This is a tradition for Gorzycki and we are looking for our largest group yet.  Practice begins next Friday after school.  Hope to see you there.

The Geo Bee winners are Colin D - 1st; Isabella M - 2nd; and Griffin M - 3rd.  Congratulations to all who competed.

Choice Sheets come out next week.  Be on the look out.

Have a great weekend.

Short weeks are so much fun.   I had the great fortune of being serenaded by the boys choir today.  They did an awesome job.
It was also the finals for the GMS annual Geo Bee.  I don't know the winner yet so stay tuned next Friday.

Career Day is next Wednesday.  If you were thinking of participating but forgot, there is more information on the GMS website or email carrie.ryan@austinisd.org

Have a great weekend.

Welcome Back!  Hope everyone had a great and relaxing break.  GMS is already in the swing of spring semester.

We would like to begin by thanking our AISD School Board Representative, Yasmin Wagner for the support she provides GMS.

Fellow Christian Athletes (FCA) had a guest speaker this week.  An ex-player of Coach Napoli's shared his experience with members.
GMS hosted the Spelling Bee finals this week.   Where spelling is not my strong suit, I was totally impressed with the students but especially the last three standing!

Team 6-1 honored their new students of the 6 weeks. It is always so much fun watching them walk into this meeting where all their teachers and administrators are and then realize it is for something great.

I also had the opportunity to cover woodshop.  It impresses me how much the students learn and how creative they are with what they create.
Today was the first episode of Gnasher News.  I watched it in my office with some of the student council members.  Mr. Keller and his students did a great job!
Middle of the Year benchmarks are beginning.  Please see the school calendar for specific tests and dates.

New seasons of basketball and soccer have started.  These dates can also be found on the website.

Monday is a holiday, so see everyone on Tuesday!
