Did you know that the first publication of the Digit Newspaper came out before the holidays. Make sure you read a copy.  Go to Digit.press to see more about what is happening at GMS from the student perspective.

In December, the student council raised funds for a staff member battling breast cancer.  The fundraiser was called the Pink Power Dunk.  The participating teachers raised over $2000!  Today those "winning" teachers got "dunked'"!  Thank you, Mrs. Dahill, Mr. Wieners, Ms. Alver, Mr. Summers, Mr. Mahoney, Mrs. Mazac, Mrs. Snyder, Mrs. R. Christensen, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Laughlin, Mrs. Zimmerman, Mrs. Allevato, and Mr. Kagan.

Have you ever heard of the AAH Committee Literary Contest?  One of our students, Parker L., won 3rd place with his piece on creating future leaders winning $50,  a book for our library and a certificate signed by the governor!  Way to go, Parker!

Phoenix House is partnering with the 6th grade teachers to support students with making healthy choices.  The goal of the program is to empower students to resist the dangers of substance abuse and encourage students to make healthy choices.  All 6th grade parents should have received information related to the program.  Please let me know if you have questions.

GMS is hosting an 8th grade parent night "Get Ready for High School" on Jan. 11th at 6:30 in cafeteria.

GMS is thrilled to present "Screenagers".  This movie addresses the most pervasive parenting issues of our time - teens struggling over social medial, video games, and internet addiction.  Please go to our website to find times and to RSVP.

Stay warm this weekend!
