Have you seen the amazing artwork on the walls of GMS?  Our students, with the instruction from Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Grizzle, are just amazing.

Science classes are using our new Virtual Sandbox.  Support cool way to discuss topography.
There have been visitors on campus this week.  Hopefully, your child was able to have them teach their class.

Harper Jennings received an honorable mention for sixth grade for the 2019 Vision + Voice Poetry contest.  Here is the poem: http://k12.visionandvoice.org/2019/01/04/love-letter/

Next week 7th graders enjoy a performance from Changing Lives as well as have their vision and hearing checked.

GMS Musical, Legally Blonde Jr, begins.  It is definitely one of my favorite things at GMS.  Be on the lookout for tickets.

Have a great weekend.

After a semester off, the GMS students asked to bring PAWS for Fun back.  With a little restructuring, one grade level per day, it was a great success!  Students could select from several different locations.

Games in the classroom was one location.....
 Outside was another possible location....
We ended the week with another great pep rally honoring boys basketball and girls soccer...

Remember that Monday is a holiday for students.  Have a great weekend.

It is always fun to end the week with something fun.  The Valentine's Dance was great.  Everyone is so dressed up...

Student Council is selling Candy Grams during lunch.  These will be delivered on Valentine's Day to the students.

This is a reminder that students are on a different schedule next week.  GMS calls it the Pep Rally Schedule.  It is 1st -5th period, 7th, 8th, and then 6th.  We are bringing back PAWS for Fun.  To increase the safety, each day is a different grade level - starting with 6th graders.  This happens during 6th period, which will now be the last period of the day.  And, there is actually a Pep Rally on Thursday.

It is a long weekend for students.  Students are off the 15th and 18th.  We still have some basketball and soccer games happening.  Please come and support the Tigers.

18 of the 32 choir students were selected to be one of the district's choirs.  Another three were selected as alternates.  Congratulations Mr. Heckler and the GMS Choir.

GMS 8th graders attended the College and Career Fair this week at Palmer Auditorium...

Congratulations GMS Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Skola...

Congratulations GMS Teacher of Promise, Ms. DeCaire...

This is what happens during PE when it rains outside.  No off day here...

No Place for Hate door contest winner, Mr. Summers....

It was great having all the incoming 6th graders on campus today.  I can't wait until they become Tigers...

Almost all incoming and current GMS students have their Choice Sheets.  If you have questions, please come Feb. 5th to Choice Sheet Night.  Choice Sheets are due Feb. 8th.

As you know, we have the best counselors.  Next week is Counselor Appreciation.  Please help me recognize them.

If you have a 7th or 8th grader, there is a Valentine's Dance next Friday.  See website for more details.

Today was the first practice for the Cap 10K Team.  If you are interested, see Coach McKenzie.

Have a great weekend.
