Today is the last day to register for Incoming 6th grade Transition Camp.  Please let your friends know.  The link is on the GMS website.

If you received an email this week from the school about registration, that means your child is NOT registered.  The scheduling process has begun and if your child is NOT registered a schedule will not be created.  Register now!

Mr. Howard is piloting the Good Card program with some of the PALS students.  You might see them on the news tonight. Positive stickers were placed on each 8th grade locker.  The 8th graders were quite surprised when they walked out of class.

If you have nothing to do this weekend, our dancers are performing both Friday and Saturday night here in the gym.

Have a great weekend.

Next week is vision and hearing screenings on campus for some of the students.  If you are interested in having your child re-screened, please contact the nurse.

The district budget survey will close soon.  Feedback is greatly appreciated.

Awesome picture of the halos around the sun taken by Mr. De la Garza.

So proud of Coach Fourmy in creating the first GMS Golf Team.  They took first place this week.

There is a golf tournament and track meet next week.  Hope to see you at one of the events.

Want to thank our amazing PTA for the staff luncheon.  It was delicious and the flowers were beautiful.

Next week is Administrative Professional Week.  Please help GMS show our Office Staff how great they are.

Have a great weekend.

As I reflect on this past week, it seems like things have been relatively calm.  Of course it was STAAR week and keeping things calm and quiet is a focus.  As many of you heard, there was a hiccup with the writing online STAAR, which is how our 7th graders took the test.  But the students did great, we re-adjusted lunches, and by the time lunch was done, the test was back up.  Again, so proud of our students and staff for rolling with this glitch.  There are a few weeks until the next STAAR testing begins and we will be prepared!

Next week GMS is aligning the General PTA meeting and parenting class on April 19th at 6:00ish .  PTA will be voting on our new board and I am excited with the candidate slate.  Hope to see everyone there.

Have a great weekend.

It was UIL Choir this week.  Our teams earned superior ratings on their performances and site reading.

If your watching the news this Sunday, be on the lookout for the GMS Cap 10K team.  We will be in neon orange.

The PTA is offering two scholarships.  One is the Julie Adler Scholarship which will provide tuition for one of our Tigers to go to orchestra camp this summer.  There are also scholarships available for graduating seniors who attended GMS.  Please visit the GMS PTA webpage for more information and donating.

Next week begins STAAR for 7th and 8th graders.  Please remember visitors are not allowed on campus.

GMS is only at 67% registration for next year.  Please make sure that you do this and remind your friends and neighbors.  This completely impacts the number of courses we offer.

Heard it was getting cold tomorrow. So stay warm and have a great weekend.
