It is so great to have the students back on campus.  As I walked through classrooms, it was great to see students learning different ways to use technology.

Below is a student in Ms. Prepster's class learning how to use Recap.

These students from Ms. Shirak's class are playing activities that help them learn more about each other.

The first week went relatively well.  There were a few late bus issues and some mix up with lockers.  But overall all the kinks have been worked out.

GMS has a new food manager, Bill Raup.  As he transitions to middle school, there are other changes within the food service department.  New recipes, new ingredients, and new software, which are definitely needed, have caused some of the listed items on the menu items to change.  Please be patient and once the kinks are all worked out I know GMS will have one of the best cafeteria in AISD!

Schedule change forms will be available next week.  Please look for more information.

Next Friday is my first Principal's Coffee.  It will be at 9:00 and the office will let you know of the location.

Back-to-School Night is September 6th, the day after a school holiday.

Have a great weekend.

Hard to believe that I am posting the first blog for the 2016-2017 school year.  Seems like school just ended.  The staff has been busy all week preparing for the arrival of our students.  Don't forget the start time for school has changed.  Middle school hours are now 8:25- 3:40.  The GMS doors will open at 8:00.  Please be patient with traffic in the morning and at dismissal.  The first week is usually hectic.  Remember the bus is a possibility for most students.

As a reminder when students enter the building, they are to look at all the posters to determine where they report to first period.  It is during first period that students will receive their schedule.

Looks like it will be a rainy weekend and first day.  Be safe and make sure you have an umbrella.

See you Monday.
